Games aren't made for men anymore. They're made for a "modern audience". It means companies need to pander to a few individuals that complain about things.

Probably a realism, change of beauty standards or suitability of the game's environment and settings with Western developers. However Asian developers seem to keep their characters quite "pretty" i.e. fan service and waifus.

in my opinion, the fan service isn't really needed either as it just draws in people to the games yes but, games should be open for all in the sense of looks, not open to one.

Their asses are mostly fine, it's their faces which are the problem.

Why should a character "represent" anyone? Are you going to complain when they are a samurai because you are not one?

i'd not complain on such, the choices of the designs for characters within games that aren't customized by said player are simply just characters, they can be whatever the devs want it to be.
what i mean here is the players customization availability for looks.

would you be pleased if a game forcibly made you appear female or male regardless of you wishing to be the same as you currently are?

that isn't really a problem for many as they just roll with it yeah, but when the looks begin to shift into.. well you already know what they did with pokemonGO to understand what i mean here.
