modern hardware cause game breaking bugs,some level cant be passed,
how did you manage to get it going normally

4 was a major clusterf*ck as a title. First opening at HD era and right after the critical success of the 3D era. It was unplayable at launch, due to multiple layers of DRM, login to foreign account and GFWL. Lots of its gameplay elements and mechanisms were clunky, broken, poorly implemented. Lots of content that its predecessors had, much like abundance of minigames and interactive map, wasn't there. Not even all vehicle types were present, in it! The take on realism over fun, was simply unfun and unfit for a GTA title, alienating the old playerbase. Many vehicles didn't reach the speeds and the performance of their 3D-era counterparts and the police chace was always a sh_tty procedure.

I made the error to buy it retail. Couldn't play it, until many patches were released and certain groups, were able to crack it fully. Then i couldn't sit down to play through it, because it simply wasn't fun and the gameplay features, didn't work as intended, or as they did in San Andreas (ex ducking).

I gave away my retail box for free to a bad friend, at the time.

I have it but it is a game I have never started to play. I have quite a few of those.

I recently started the remaster of GTA III (not played a GTA game before) so maybe I can work my way to it after VC and SA.

I agree, I found GTA IV and V way more boring than 3, SA and VC so I couldn't complete them. I even finished the PSP games before trying with IV again.

3 is hard and has a totally different vehicle steering/feel. But is nice in its own way and has unique gameplay elements, like being able to have all of the existing weapons on your character and registering all vehicles to order them for free, even law-enforcement. Is very hard at times, like those Patriot missions or Ambulance and has bad design (all gangs are hostile and kill you on sight, especially the mafias can blow up your car before you can escape sometimes). Some frenzy missions are almost impossible, too.

I never finished it the day i bought it, back in the day. Only recently, i managed to 100% it. I like playing it sometimes. Is the only 3D title you can change the camera to the top down view, that the original 2D games had!

It's not too difficult when you keep ghosting everyone who calls you and then anger Michelle enough

I couldn't bring myself to play GTAV again after playing rdr2 and recent AC odyssey/valhalla

The performance issue kept me away from finishing that game.

I used to go to the swing on friend's Xbox.

I find there's a point midway through a game where you've sort of had the "vertical slice" - you've seen almost everything the game is going to throw at you - and you just have to slog your way through the rest of it. I'm at that point with a couple games I'm playing.
