The only good Japanese MMORPG I played was the shin megami tensei one. And I'm pretty sure it shut down.

I know this is old..but I don't think they're asking for a Japanese MMORPG...they're looking for a Massive Multiplayer Online JRPG...think something like Dragon Quest or Old School Final Fantasy, but online.

Sadly, I'm pretty certain none actually exist. The closest we've ever gotten are already shut down. Dragon Quest X is still online, but it's strictly Japanese and it's not even really like every other DQ title. It's more of an action MMO in reality. Same with FF XIV. Unless I'm mistaken...an online JRPG does not exist.

Final Fantasy 11 and 14 are well regarded, even if I don't consider them real Final Fantasy.

The Matrix Online was the real finale of the franchise. That stupid 2021 movie doesn't exist.
