I'm officially now team red
Ever since my first gpu, the 6800 GT, I have been using Nvidia cards. But today I finally decided to give AMD a try and see what the experience is like. I upgraded from my 4070 to a 9070 xt and the card cost me £649. I got the Sapphire Nitro+ variant which is basically the ROG Strix tier.

The equivalent 5070 ti is like £900 so it's a big price difference between the two cards.

Maybe im going to regret it, maybe it's money well spent. But FSR 4 is a big improvement over FSR 3 and Redstone is going to be released for the 90 series cards at some point in the future so I'm hoping for good things.

I'm going to undervolt it a bit to reduce the power draw and squeeze a few more fps from the card hopefully, and ray tracing really isn't that big of a deal for me anyway so those are the reasons I went with AMD this time around.

And my cpu is the 7800X3D so yeah I'm full team red now.

After using amd platforms since 90s my next pc will be from intel and nvidia.
I have the same cpu with a 5080 and in BF6 they perform really close. I still think RT and the App and dlss swapper are worth the premium but once Steam OS has native 9000 series support and redstone things may change. If i were to swap over, AMD would need a FSR swapper, Redstone and the 80GB not 54GB displayport.

I hope you have a good experience here on team red!

I run an AMD R9-5950x/5900xt/x570 build personally, and its been great.

This swaps FSR files, I'm Nvidia too so not sure the ins & outs of it but seems you can along with XESS and DLSS, I've just used DLSS side obviously.

lol this kind of reads as I stuck with AMD while they made poor products but now they are making good stuff time to ditch them.
Maybe some unique bold choice I don't see.

I switched to AMD from NVidia, and I am quite impressed also. However, AMD has this thing where they just don't want to really compete with NVidia for some reason. They keep getting in their own way.

They basically take a step forward, just to take a step back.

They do want to, can't compete is the right way to put it, unless they get at least equal performance per watt they will be behind, unless when Nvidia releases a 575W GPU they release a 750/800W GPU to compete.
The best AMD card is RX 9070

Dont you think they are behind in software though? They could do it but whats the excuse? Nvidia has the App and you linked a third party fsr swapper what actually limits AMD doing the same? They bore me being historically slow the 54gb Displayport really pisses me off when you need that for some 500hz displays why do AMD discount someone running a pg27ucdm on a 9070xt? T

I switched to team red after I went to activate the built-in recording function on my Nvidia GPU, and it required me to create an Nvidia account and log in before it would let me. I've been very pleased with my AMD hardware so far, and it's also been beneficial since I started using Linux full-time.

I don't think Nvidia requires a login to use basic features anymore, but that still left a bad taste in my mouth, and there are other aspects of Nvidia's business model that I'm not happy about.

What made you pick 7800X3D?

If he's a pro he will have used Ip Dip Do.

Yeah sure, that's why they have to cheaper at the same performance to make sense which they usually are.

A software team a fraction of the size and probably better talent overall built up at Nvidia.

Thing is though he say's £900 for a 5070 Ti when you can get a perfectly fine one for £700 just £50 more.

Some of your obviously have no clue how to shop around and look for good deals.

You can get 5070 Ti for around 649 and 5080 for around 1000
