1080 ti vs 2080 for dx11
i currently have an i7-9700k and 2080 founders edition, i have a deal going through on the 14th of this month (december) to trade for a 1080 ti zotac mini with an evga 120mm aio cooler and nzxt aio bracket/shroud.

ive done the research and to my knowledge the 1080ti performs better in games i enjoy, because i dont play new games, all the games i play are from at least when RTX launched or before. i dont like the "new slop"

is this a good or bad trade? will the 1080 ti still last me for playing the games i will play for another 5 years? i looked at benchmarks and the 1080 ti performs better in older games and some newer games even, the resale value might be good still or trade value. the 2080 is roughly equal to an rtx 4060-5050 afaik

RTX 2080 is 9% faster but has less VRAM . Supports Direct X 12.2 but RTX 1080ti only 12.1 .So , some games wont work . Also RTX 1080ti draws more power . i dont like the deal.

well did you read the post? i dont use dx12 for anything, i dont play new games, i play dx_1 games, and dx11 and dx9 and dx10. the 1080 ti performs better in all these aspects

Well seems you want the deal so do it then, smallcat thinks it's a poor deal did you just want your hand holding while you go through with your decision.

Make sure if you buy the GTX 260 that you upgrade your CPU to the Pentium D 930 to stop bottlenecks, and at least 2GB DDR2.

It is imperative that you also install SP3 on Win XP.

i cant find anyone giving me a better convincing rather than "2080 better at dx12 sometimes" (not even 100% true) so id like to know if theres still longevity and resale value for the 1080 ti all modded and ♥♥♥♥
