20 years away from PC gaming. GPU confuse the hell out of me.
Am I on the right track.

Max budget of $400 for a GPU that has 16GB of RAM.

I realize this is a bad time to jump back in with pricing going crazy. I have watched many hours of people talking about GPU. Read more that 100 reviews. I am still feel clueless.
What I think I'm looking for, 16gb, PCIe 4 or 5 (wtih X8 or X16), GDDR6,

My goal is to get a minimum of 3 years use, be able to play 1080p multiplayer games at least a high setting, 1440p would be great.

Considering a Micro ATX case. I do CNC programming and frequently travel with my computer..

So many options with with look like the same specs but priced from $400-$1000 and I can't see the difference..

Thanks for any info/clarifications. I will be using an AMD CPU and 32gb of RAM., 2tb NVME drive.

At your budget you will be looking at either the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti, or AMD RX 9600 XT.

- playing mplayer games at high settings

LOL

- playing single player games at ULTRA settings at 30-40 frames per sec

leet

Everyone loves those 16GB cards, cause the lighting and water refections/the trees blowing in the wind is so pretty.

I don't know about you, but I really want to see my shadow when I playing mplayer online games.

I wish you the best of luck, you can run mid-range AI learning model programs with 32GB of ram so you can make the best of the new age of rip offs of the future. Or you can just open 50-75 web browser tabs.

What a waste of money man, I'm so angry and disappointed all the time. I am more then happy to buy used pc parts or take peoples trash and turn it into gold.

The only card I want to buy is the rx 7400... or a used rx 6500... I wouldn't give these bandits anything but my sad satrie writing on the steam forums.

You doing better then me, I am 50 years from PC gaming.

9060xt 16gb is your only choice

the 5060ti 16gb is also a thing but its outside your budget

those are the only choices around 400 usd

Holy mother of Christ. This guy tells us what he wants. 5060ti is the only choice you have. It'll be a bit above your budget -by just 20 quid- but you won't have to deal with AMD shenanigans. Or it's really your choice. Get 9060xt and test it for yourself.

Problem is that AMD cards are really terrible regarding the cooling solution. My 5060ti is also jammed in a sff build that I take with me because I'm in a similar situation and travel a lot. So far only the 5060ti is doing a respectable job. The rest is not good to say the least.

AMD shenanigans such as........?

Since when?

they act as if Nvidia didn't just have those driver issues when the 5000 series launched.

this isn't pre 2015 anymore. AMD and Nvidia are on par when it comes to drivers.
AMD isn't a laughing stock anymore. i still prefer nvidia due to it's feature set, but amd is fine.

also AMD and Nvidia both have cards that are cooled really well and some that aren't.

that's card design specific.

I won't give people bad advice based on the experience of people Idk. I tested the 9070xt and I wasn't happy. That's why I eventually opted for the 5070ti for my main rig and 5060ti for my sff. No issues yet. But I suppose it requires basic knowledge of what you're doing unlike the clueless brigade.

AMD is still behind. No matter how much you beat your chest and cry at your screen. It won't change that fact. Their market share is gradually shrinking and for good reason. Seem like the vast majority aren't ignorant enough to fall for influencer bait.

What do you mean you tested it? Did you buy it and return it or something?
