Fixing stuck pixels on my monitor.
I noticed recently that all along the bottom of my screen I had lines of coloured pixels that are quite noticeable in games or when a YouTube video is playing in full screen.

I tested my monitor on a chromebook and the weird lines remained, so it's definitely a problem with the monitor and not my GPU, I also did that test with a brand new hdmi cable.

My question is, are these likely stuck pixels and can I fix them?

I mean one pixel might be stuck. A whole row of them? Sounds more like a defect in the monitor. Or it's so old and stuff wears out.

Pixels being stuck could be defective too. No guarantee they can be fixed either. They might just end up dead.

Can't hurt to try some stuff. You should manage your expectations though. Probably can't make it worse, might not be fixable.

What are the model/specs on the monitor?
Yeah whole lines of them just seemed to appear out of nowhere. It's only about 2 or 3 years old too. I'll get back to you on the model.

thats a damaged panel or a damaged connectors/cables on the panel

only fix it to replace the panel in the monitor or get a new monitor

Wouldn't the pixels be black (dead though)? These seem like multi colour lines. But I think you're right, panel seems broke. I can't think how though, I didn't hit it or anything as far as I know.
a cracked/damaged panel can result in stick or dead pixels
or if its power lines are shorted to other pins they can be stuck

It's probably a defective panel from day one. Quality control is practically non-existent, so you should just go for a refund if you can. You can try getting a replacement but if the product is new then it could be part of a bad batch. You can't fix it, and it'll probably get worse over time as more subpixels fail to close.

monitors under 10 years old, would never have that many bad pixels
let alone entire rows

It's 1 year old, so.... I know I said 2-3 years, but I checked the invoice today and I bought it last year.

Spare yourself the pain and send it back. Some bad pixels can start out as small inaccuracies that aren't always noticed at first and get worse over time.
