Why do you think you need USB-C DP alt mode for it? It already has Display Port 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 output.

It would be cool but it’s an extra cost for everybody for a benefit of very few people.

Steam Laptop would do a better job for a portable machine. Or the already existing Steam Deck that many people also use docked and connected to a monitor + m&k.
