unplug the current os drive, and use bios to select which to boot from

Go to the windows search box -> type in command -> find command prompt -> right click and run as administrator -> chkdsk /f c: -> y at the prompt -> reboot your computer -> do not interrupt it when it does the disk scan on start up -> wait for it to reboot again -> your problem should be solved. This happens to some of my drives randomly and this always fixes it.

Open cmd, type widget install windirstat

Open windirstat

If you don't know whats on your c drive download wiztree or treesize from the microsoft store or a trusted site.

Scan for malware. Windows defender + malwarebytes but keep defender active.

Is the recycling bin not emptying properly? You can refresh it if needed?

Where did they hide disk clean in Win11? I was going to say try doing disk clean but I don't see that option now.

Press windows key and type disk and disk clean up should be there.

They hid a lot of stuff in the last few updates. Activity History toggle off in privacy being one of them.

If you are riding that close to the line already, you probably shouldn't without upgrading first.
