Which CPU should I choose for ASUS Tuf gaming z790-plus wifi
I just bought this motherboard for my next pc, because it has a very good pcie lanes sharing that does not affect each other and i can later max out ssds m.2. currently have a i7 6700k with gtx 1060, now I wonder what cpu and other components to choose, is it worth going i7 14th or should i choose i9? planning to get a 5070 ti or 5080 later when i have more cash, the pc will primary be for gaming but i want to try and learn blender and UE too.

and what power supply wattage you recommend? i wont have any sata ssds or hdds, but tons of m.2, and any good air cooler to match with these cpus?

but they are prone to issues

edit
in fact Intel lists i5 14600K as affected too but yet it draws less power. of course it would need the latest Intel BIOS

Degradation and weird behavior

is that still a problem? I remember last year i wanted to build new and decided not to bcs of that, but now many says that it is fixed by updates. is that still a thing now?

if you want to gamble ,ok
14700K would be fine. Biggest issues were with 13th gen i7 and i9.

do you know of any air cooler that could handle 14700k or KF? all i see on internet people say you should choose AIO

The issues were patched, it's old news but AMD fanboys love to keep bringing it up.

Also ironic that he asked why not the 14600K, when it had the same degradation problems, Intel said any Raptor Lake CPU over 65W could be afflicted.

Liquid is the better choice because these CPUs get really hot very quickly, and will easily overwhelm air coolers if you don't undervolt out the wazoo and go for more modest clocks.

ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 (or 420 if your case fits that size) would be best, ID-COOLING FX360 PRO and INF are also good units for the price.

The risks are mitigated and albeit gone, and the issues were blown up by the media when they were going on, tons of 13th and 14th gen K users were totally fine.

r.linder , patched .oh .still 253W garbage .

Max boost doesn't mean it's running like that all of the time, my 12900K is still more efficient than my 10850K.

They can be made even more efficient in reality when you undervolt and use certain UEFI settings, you can get the power down a lot while hardly losing anything.

Now quit trying to derail with your nonsense if you're just going to fearmonger the OP
