The Puck
The new puck for the new Steam controller looks cool and all but I would prefer to have the puck be a little stand instead so that my controller can stand upright and look all neat and cool the way my PS5 and Xbox controllers do when charging.

third party stuff should be easy to make since its valve and they actually cater towards the customers

That would be so cool. I hope it happens.

it will, if something like the nintendo switch 2 can still get third party stuff made for it when it is literally the fort knox of consoles then yes, third party things will exist

The advantage of Valve’s solution is that you can charge and play at the same time. I prefer Valve’s solution personally but I always play wired anyway.

Sure, but the Steam Controller gives you 35 hours on a single charge.
Unless you are very forgetful or unorganised I don’t see that being an issue.
What holds more value to me is being able to simply drop my controller after play into a dock and walk away as it begins auto charging. Then when I return to later on the controller is fully charged again and looking cool and tidy sitting in its dock.
You could probably 3d print an attachment for it to stand controllers upright on.

Maybe for latency, but then does the puck send data or just a charger?

CAD or blender + xbox controller stand 3d print, give it a cutout for the trackpads and give it an attachment point for the puck
You could easily 3D print or have made... a custom stand for Steam Controller

The puck looks great, but I do really like the dock for my 8BitDo Ultimate. I may 3d print something that the puck fits into.
