Is 85°C Normal for MSI RTX 4060 Ti Ventus 8GB Dual Fan at 99% Usage?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been monitoring my GPU temps and noticed that my MSI RTX 4060 Ti 8GB Ventus Dual Fan model reaches around 85°C when it's running at 99% usage during gaming or other demanding tasks.
Is this temperature considered normal for this specific model under full load, or should I be concerned about cooling, airflow, or thermal limits?
Would love to hear from others who have the same card or similar setups. Thanks in advance!

It’s a smidge high but nothing that’s super concerning. My 3060 runs around 77C to 80C under full load.

Unless it begins to get hotter as time passes, I wouldn’t stress it.

If you don't want to click here's the takeaway:

Yes, 85°C is high for a GPU and can potentially lead to overheating and reduced performance. It’s generally recommended to keep the GPU temperature below 80°C for optimal performance and to prevent potential damage to the graphics card. Consider improving airflow in your PC case, cleaning dust from the GPU and its fans, or using a custom fan curve to keep the temperature in check.

so yes...it's too warm for any GPU long term.

Personally I'm on a 4090 Overclocked to the max and I don't go above 70°C thanks to some quite frankly overkill airflow. (15 fans in total including the 2 on my CPU cooler) Noisy but it works (and I wear headphones anyway).

Not sure what your set up is but if you can add a couple more fans, I would do it and as long as it's under 80°C you'll be fine long term.
Rather high but not critical.

it s not normal at all . 85C cores temp . +15/20C for the hot spot it means 100C .it s absolutely not ok

RTX 4060ti max temp is 90C ,NVidia set .Some are set lower

as long as its not throttling its fine

bro , drink a cup of coffee to refresh you . it sounds like - if it doesnt shut down you re ok . No precautions .nothing

its fine

its below its max temp
yea its warm, but its a 2 fan cooler
probably smaller rad than some others

it s 140-150W card , it s not 300W card .he has a cooling issue

for founder edition
core temp max - 64C
hot spot max - 74C

160w, yes
but the 2 fan model is much smaller than the triple fans, and will run hotter
again, its below its max temp and not throttling, so its fine

when it does hit its max temp and begin throttling, then clean it, or improve case airflow

why do you always whine and complain when anyone contradicts you with the truth?

lol, on open air test bench it will be much cooler than in a case

get real

You get real . i could post you a video with 71-77C in a case . Stop beating about the bush .you re wrong in this case

GPU temperature reached nearly 90°C, with a hotspot temperature of 102°C, yet the stability remained at 99%.

its not throttling, its fine
the gpu will not kill itself due to temps, it will throttle to cool itself
Chaosolous 12. nov. kl. 17:57
Nah SmallCat, 85 is fine. It's within range.

If it gets worse, he should look into it.

Likely just an air-flow issue, if an issue at all.

you re basically saying - keep on this way . i cant believe this
