Frame controllers working on x86?
Will the Steam Frame controllers be usable without VR running?
I've been playing a lot of games with a joycon alternative, and very much love gyro, but only when it's on the right hand, like I'm used to from playing PC games.
If I could play PC games with just the Frame controllers, not necessarily with the Frame headset, I'd have a controller that's literally designed for my use case!

Brooo I was just thinking of this. It would be just like playing with Nintendo Wii nunchucks all over again! :D

What we know right now is that the controllers connect directly to the Frame and use the Frame for some positional tracking.

Conceivably the internal sensors for the controllers could be configured to not require the positional tracking from the Frame and send their internal sensors to a different connection (i.e. to a computer). So gyro controls could be accomplished if the software is there for it.

Without knowing the details of the software, there's really no way to be certain about this.

A bit of an important rephrase is whether it'll work when SteamVR is turned off.
