Why did the recent Microsoft update remove my D drive?
I have tons of games installed, but on Steam they say I have to reinstall them all, even though I was just playing them last night. I have restarted multiple times and still nothing is working.

Check in Disk Management and see if it's still there just needs a drive letter assigned

Nope. Its not there either. It's only showing the C drive.

Is D drive usb?
Plug it in wait. If plugged in unplug then plug in again.
How old is drive can stop working after 6 or more years.

It might have been an external drive (I just assumed it was a partition on the same drive as C:) but I have to say OP if it was an actual separate drive try to see if you can disable them/unplug them if you do a Windows update (especially full re-install) in the future.

Assuming C and D are separate drives..
Does the BIOS recognize the other drive to begin with?
I don't think that's the update which caused it but rather a bad timing with something else

If you don't see the drive in the BIOS then you may want to open up the machine, disconnect the drive and re-plug it as a test.

So , it s one disk with 2 partitions - C and D , right . It s a SSD or a HDD ? does Disk Management show any free space

^ or this?

Open Disk Management and post a screen capture so people can see the disk configuration

And/or install CPUz and run the hardware validator then post the results link here so people can see what hardware is being seen by the system to help point you in the right direction.
