I got a desktop mic, questionable quality, had to use an adapter with the audio from a headset. I was previously using a genius mouse and keyboard, definitely can say that it got somewhat better. I can also feel a slight delay with some keys on my keyboard.

Luckily, I cannot think of anything that requires 6 keys to be pushed similtaneously.

Mouse / keyboard are very subjective, as long as beutger are conrctibg via Bluetooth you shoukd vs find, but, u you do have a delay, go to a bit better if a setup, but, these things can get expensive fast, do without anyone knowing hour budget, u you like wired or wireless it's kind if hard for anyone to know what to recommend to you.

Adrsktop mic should just be usb these days unless you go to high end, at whuc point xlr pops up which needs a secondary device to interface with.

the four biggest components that actually made me good at games

144hz+ monitor

mechanical keyboard, not razer mechamembrane bullcrap, actual real mechanical stuff
(i'd recommend the epomaker x aula f108 pro since you can map macros to the keypad if you need to and it looks and feels amazing)

and also a good cpu + nvidia auto tuning

holy those made me like 100% better



another thing i'd recommend (but not needed) is a mouse that fits your preferences, i'm a g502 x plus guy since its big and i have 1200 dpi at a relatively high sens, "heavy" mice arent bad

make sure you also get a semi mid to high end PC that can get ~300 fps in the competitive fps titles you play, in cs2 and a few other comp shooters i can get over 200-300 fps with just a 3060 and r5 3600 currently

If they work fine and are what your used to it's good. Wired and rf (radio frequency) stuff is usually fine for low input lag. With mice it's mostly how it feels and moves in your hand. There is bad stuff but read reviews, comments, etc... to avoid them.

Don't use bluetooth stuff. Speakers/head phones might lag quite a bit. So a person will speak on the screen then a little bit later you will hear it.

Membrane keyboards are fine in my opinion.

That is called rollover; e.g. when the key buffer is full. 5 keys is common on old/non-gaming keyboards.

If you don't want that you need to look for keyboards that have "N key rollover" (meaning any number of keys) also called "NKRO".

Obviously, a decent mouse and keyboard, though a FPS keypad is nice to have in some cases. Like if you're on a laptop, and the regular keyboard is cramped or flimsy.

Modern lightguns that work with current displays are a thing, so go support Sinden.

A USB hub with a long cord, and a swiveling laptop tray are good to have if you're gaming from the couch or easychair, and playing something unsuited to controller.

Also, having a Sata Dock and/or Nvme enclosure is good for all PC users, gamers or not.

You never know when you have to pull your hard drive and do an emergency backup or disk clone. (I suppose cloud storage is an option for backups, if you trust ♥♥♥♥ like OneDrive and are willing to pay for a terabyte or more)

I made the post a bit before actually testing the keyboard, apparently keys w, 1 and 2 when pressed don't allow certain keys to be recognized. It might just be a factory-made issue.

I don't really need to store anything, my steam account is all I have, so I just factory reset my laptop periodically.
