Steam Frame and the glasses wearing population?
Long story short, basically we need custom lens and frames made that pop into the VR headset in order to see things correctly in VR. Every headset has it's own frame custom made with prescription lenses for each individual glasses-wearing user. It's very tedious and expensive.

Did Valve find a way around this? Please god, let Valve have found a way around this... :Horrormouse:

That's the main reason why I don't bother with VR games, plus I wear bi-focals, so I ain't sure how well my eyes would jell with VR headsets.

Have you even tried using VR without your glasses on? Most people will not need to wear their glasses while using VR. Using VR is not like viewing true distance in the real world

Nah, it's just gibberish.
I'd say, wait for the vroptician. I'm using the lenses from them on my Vive Pro 1, Vive Pro 2 and Meta Quest 3 and i'd never wear glasses under any HMD again. Way easier life.
The only hinderance could be the eye tracking, but i can do without that. Doesn't work on my eyes anyways.

i also use a lense insert for my vr headset. Im sure it depends on what kind of eye issues you have whether they help or not, but mine seem to make it all a little better on my psvr2.

I have a wildly different perscription in each eye because of an astygmatism? Whatever the hell that is. So im sure results will vary

I usually just buy prescription lens inserts for my new VR headsets. They are usually easy to install and cost between $20 and $100 depending on the brand. Some are available very inexpensively.

In a way, I like putting them on the VR headset because they provide protection for your precious and delicate VR headset lenses which you obviously don't want to scratch by accident.

I also like them because it feels great to not have to wear glasses in VR. (And wearing glasses inside your VR headset increases the risk your headset lenses or glasses lenses get scratched, imo.)

The price of lenses heavily depends on your prescription. Mine are like $300-$400 just for the lenses. My daughter's is like $10 and she has bifocals. That's a huge price difference.

As far as one can trust the hands-on by Linus Tech Tips, Valve is planning to develop their on prescription lenses some time after the launch.
Maybe they're cheaper than the third party opticians.

And maybe the eye tracking could work with them. :)

The VROptiker already states on their website that they are planning lenses for the Steam Frame.

I had no issue using the index or Vive whilst wearing my glasses. Will be no different with the frame!
kilésengati 11 月 13 日 下午 7:30
Now this makes me wonder: Has anyone of the VR users with visual impairments here have used their VR headset as digital glasses?

I know the frame will only have greyscale cameras, so that would be a bit dull.

Exactly, instead of camera taking pictures to make your clothes camouflage. which was honestly thought the new s t e a m/valvE venture was gonna be by now Electronic Fiber or Smart cloth. Which could be remoted to change via the steamdeck. Got a cube couldn't even wear around neck.

If could have eyeballs looking through a FLUID to make out things in a 270 degrees would brain be able to handle.

Features as liquid could VR helm is probably a job that isn't on the list just like where is the Discussion forum for the new cube? steam deck has one, vr, even steam music still has a forum.

Set the frame into a motorcycle helmet.
