Running Borderlands 2 causes internet to die.
Hey guys, I've been referred here by someone from the Borderlands 2 discussion.

I don't know how or why this happens but it started happening to me around 1 week ago since this post. My internet is a stable 300 Mbps wired, but the moment I run the game, my internet just tanks, reaching a max speed of 400 Kbps, and goes back to normal as soon as the game closes. Same thing with wifi. This issue persists until now.

I have already reinstalled the game and verified file integrity for what it's worth. My game was vanilla when I had these issues, but i've added a handful of mods since then. This only affects the device the game is running on, and other devices have no issues whatsoever.

My laptop is on Windows 10 by the way.

this game has potential issues - mem overhead and leaks and crashes .it s 32 bit between . it may cause Internet issues as well . Some workarounds - play in offline mode . Try without mods .They could lead it to faster run out of mem

How much RAM does the laptop have ?
i remember i finished it almost without a crash . at the very most one , if any at all .but my PC had 16GB RAM .i used no mods .i played it offline ,solo

sounds like drivers

get all the correct ones from the mobo mfg or oem site
and gpu driver from amd/nvidia/intel, never use windows update for drivers
Is it only this game, or any other game?

Since it only just that device, and not happening to others, then this may suggest needing run system repair, or may need to reinstall your driver's.

- Try this open CMD as administrator do each line one at a time, until finish and restart PC.

netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /registerdns

- If using custom DNS, or Proxy/VPN compare to your other devices, ensure that not the issue.

- If using pi-hole, or custom firewall, or anything mess with protocols, ensure that not the issue.

- Try this open CMD as administrator, type in command, if it find any errors restart PC, and test.

SFC /scannow

- If all else failed, check your motherboard/device manufacturing website download latest drivers for it may be bios if not up to date, and network drivers may need to reinstall with lastest driver for your device.

Hope you figure your issue out.

Did Borderlands work fine at some point and then this started happening? If so, try and remember if there was anything else that changed that might have caused this that isn't actually the game itself.

Yes, it was fine for a while. After a week, this issue happened. I didn't install anything, made any network changes, router/modem settings were untouched.

did a windows update break it?
on major updates it rolls back drivers to windows generics
How do you know? What are you downloading on the internet when you run the game and how do you tell that it slowed down so much?

borderlands 2/3 always connect to gearbox servers for dlc and mp and stuff
it gives warnings when disconnected or forced single player modes
