Changing CPU in an HP SFF
Hi,

I have an HP SFF with a Ryzen 3 2200G. It's just a media centre machine that I got for cheap. Works well enough.
I upgraded my old Ryzen 5 3400G. I was thinking about getting the 3400G on there for about 30% more processing. It shouldn't be an issue on most machines, but these SFF HPs are sometimes too finicky. Any chance I can get it to work or maybe burn the whole thing up?

It shouldn't be an issue as I assume have enough power by psu, but if you want you go to device manufacturing website check the CPU compatibility, and if you see it there, then should work fine, just make sure it has the latest bios update.

Now if by chance this is really restricted air flow case, and cooling is really bad, driving the 2200G to it limits under load, then may need to worry as 3400G can run hotter, and you BSOD due to overheating. This just giving you heads up as I don't know what exactly you have, nor anything else as I'm taking guess here.
