but X79 just tears X58 in pieces, you can even get working NVMe drives on X79.
But still i love the sabertooth x58, it looks cool.

I know. I will soon have it on my hands. I will buy i7 960, 980x is BS to be honest, another overpay for hypernothing by Intel

x58 is one of the best platforms that still runs win xp... paid that with a titan black and a 990x cpu.. and you are golden!

Thats good to hear.. To be honest X79 is full crap on xp.. it really feels pretty dull and unstable, X58 feels way better on xp.
990x is full BS, i7 960 is way cheaper and easier to OC

those cpus like to be overclocked and can run hot

if you are doing an xp retro build, its a good choice

get a good cooler that supports socket 1366 its not quite the same as 2011
1366 cpu socket mount has 3 screw, 2011 has 4 screws, the backplates may not fit right for each other

the cpu's last decades the motherboards break..

which is why a good x58 motherboard 2d hand would cost here a couple hunderd euro...

but an used i7 990x cpu.. 60 euro only cheap as dirt....

if the vrm is good then i would so buy it....

Seriously NO. You can get AM4 mobo and cheap CPU for $100 that will demolish all those ancient CPUs.
