The capacity is capped at 4GB . cant use more even though the chipset supports more

you might be able to have 8 gigabytes but, it depends on your operating system. if you have a 64 bit operating system, you should be able to use 8 but, that is all you can fit into that motherboard i believe. that is assuming you can find 2 ram sticks of 4 gigabytes.

I put win7 64bit

if you have 64 bit, you will be able to use 8 gigabytes with your hardware. though if you have home premium you can use 16 gigabytes total while home basic can handle 8 gigabytes total. your gpu have 512 megabytes of vram.

Think they have DDR2 SODIMM and 2 slots, when I last looked the max capacity for a single stick was 2 GByte.

If there are larger (genuine) capacity sticks available the I have a Toshiba P200 ready and waiting.

laptops often have lower hardware limits, not just limited by chipset/dimm
bios may not be able to recognize over 4g

the c2d cpus have the memory controller on the mobo, not the cpu
toshiba would be in control of its memory controller limits

there are 8g desktop ddr2 dimms, but 4g was the max for ddr2 so-dimms

8g was the max for ddr2 desktop dimms, laptop so-dimms were 4g max
