New Steam deck won't finish initial install. Help!
Just received my steam deck, charged it, turned it on and began the setup/install. Install progress finished, but I received a message stating there was an error in the installation process and to try again. I did so only to receive the exact same message. I shut down the system, then turned it back on and tried a third time. Same result. Submitted the issue to support, but thought I'd post here in case anyone can offer a solution before they get back to me. Just wanna play some games ☹️

I had some trouble once with the network running afoul of one of my router network filters, which I didn't figure out for quite a while after. Maybe try on a different network?

I bought a Steam Deck (the 256GB LCD model) during the September 2025 sale, and it has the "Update Error: An error was encountered during the update process, please try again" defect.

The Steam Deck OOBE is janky like a Windows desktop computer. I regret the purchase, and if I had bought it at a retail store, then I would have instantly returned it.

Steam Deck's operating system, Steam OS is based on Arch Linux. Not long ago I tried Linux Arch and had the same experience, there were some errors during installation of some apps.
I also had some errors in the UI and some small graphical issues.
