Linux 64 bit
The transition is getting closer and closer. Progress demands it. The kernel creator seems ready.

We no longer have old PCs to salvage because we're big spenders.

Gaming-wise, it will be a revolution; right now, it's causing panic; we know we don't have much ready. And everything is already experimental in 32-bit.

Causing panic? A handful of Linux users worldwide.... you guys are hilarious.

The Linux community has had 20+ years and barely made any progress. The average PC Gamer or consumer sees this alternative as a complete joke. You are definitely not winning over any real content creators or people who game for a money-making living

Old PC's can be fun. No reason we can't recycle usable parts. Not everything demands a 5090 and an i9.

We need x86. Embedded devices want it. Surely they are more than the amount of gamers are using Linux. Bet on that

That's just a ISA.
If we look CPUs just by ISA then let's return the VLIW?

Nop. Very long instruction word is a scalar architecture. Also used by amd gpus and disposed. I love ps3 cell cpus. Was the best cpus for its era. Yes it was risc based too.

The number of users of Linux is increasing day by day, and the 32-bit version has already demonstrated good performance with native Windows applications, including games. The question to be asked is whether Windows is actually using 64-bit or not, especially in games. Steam now thinks in terms of Linux not only for its operating system but also for running anything associated with it. In reality, those who use Steam are not actually using Windows :).

Microsoft is developing or testing the development of Azure, and there are various problems associated with this development of different types. AMD and Steam (Linux) are developing different add-ons, and Microsoft is trying to stay in things similar to steamdeck. The world now thinks Linux, and it is not in doubt that by 2026 there will be a devastating dissemination. Steam may not mean that with 64 bit they launch Half Life 3.

And China wins with a system with 128-bit...

Barely made any progress?

See this is why boomers stuck in the past should reflect before posting.

Just the work that Valve together with the WINE team has done to get Proton and linux gaming in the amazing state that it is today (together with steam os development which directly benefited other linux distro's) is nothing short of amazing.

Intel, despite its various issues, is lagging behind in Linux support. Nvidia has improved slightly, and AMD, along with OpenAI (Microsoft fail), should dominate.
