In a lot of games at 1440P the CPU is the limiting factor with a 5090 so a faster GPU in them games won't give anymore FPS.
I say 5090 and wouldn't wait for a Ti, 5090 is already almost maxing out the power can't see how much more they can get out of it that would be noteworthy.
I'm @ 1440P aswell. I might get another 1440P monitor to go alongside it though or maybe 4K.
I wouldn't buy one if your using a 5080 already, and the only game you play is Fallout 4 at 1080p.
That would be a waste.
3080 10GB. 240hz IPS monitor @ 2560x1440. I want to be able to play the most demanding current and upcoming/future games. As high fps as possible is always positive.
thx for reading.

So ask yourself: is it really worth waiting another six months, when you could be playing the heck (pardon my French) out of every single game on this planet with maxed-out settings, Path Tracing on top, and DLAA just for the sheer fun of it?
I asked myself the same question after the release.
And honestly? It was worth every single freaking cent. ^^
I’m good for the next 2–4 years and not wasting a single week worrying about whether to pull the trigger now or wait another X weeks, months, or even years. This kind of mind game gets you nowhere.
Life’s too short, my man.
Buy that damn thing. Now!
edit: That's an order, private.
There will not be a better version of the 5090, like there wasn't for the 4090. Also, just like the 4090 is now the 2nd most powerful gpu on the market, the 5090 will be the second most powerful gpu when the 6090 comes out. So for a 5090 owner, the 60 series will largely be irrelevant, unless of course money is not an issue. Actually, owning ANY of the 90 models (3090, 4090, 5090) is a wonderful thing. My Aorus 3090 extreme has given me 5 glorious years of incredible service. I paired the 3090 with the mighty 12900KS and this system is ducking legendary! I also own the Aorus 4090 Master which is paired with a 13900KS.
If this is a major upgrade from an ageing system, and you have no experience with such large gpus, then I'd urge caution in how you approach the upgrade and handle and install a monster gpu like the 5090. Plan everything ahead. EVERYTHING!
How about the rest of your system?? A crap cpu will strangulate the 5090. Also you'll probably need a new psu, with the ATX 3.1 and PCIe gen 5 spec which will give you headroom for power spikes. At the very least you'll want a titanium class 1200w or 1300w psu. If seasonic is too expensive, then I'd recommend the Thermaltake TF3 1300w titanium psu with dedicated 600w rails to the 12hvpwr connectors. It's not only a stonkingly good psu but the new "etched cables" are some of the best on the market. In fact the Asus Thor II 1600w titanium uses them too, so that should tell you something.
thx.

if you are like me who is waiting for GTA 6 then you should just wait for the 6000 series and hope that it won't be duds like the 5000 series
just think about it the 5080 is only 10% faster than the 4080S and the 5090 is only 30% faster than the 4090 while costing quite a bit more
for comparison the 4080 is over 30% faster than the 3090Ti and the 4090 is over 60% faster than the previous gen flagship gpu
but I am sure you will make Jensen very happy if you just spend 3000 bucks and buy the 5090 now. you know the saying the more you buy the more you save
