Already did.
The current cables I have are from a German electronics company, they're both an Ultra-High-Speed HDMI 2.1 cable.
Both are connected to my 4090.
if the gaming drivers does not fix it try the studio drivers you can still game on those drivers just that they usually are more stability releases and fall a bit behind of the game ready drivers
Already did that too, it was one of the first things ChatGPT told me to do.
Because I have two 4K144hz monitors... and I read that HDMI 2.1 is better suited for such high resolutions.
- it can be a damaged port on either the videocard or monitor
- it can be a leaking capacitor in the monitor usually a indication of that would be for the display to take more time starting up
but it can also just be like i said driver related and if you ddu'd and it did not fix it then you are just stuck with it till nvidia fixes the issue
what you could try is swap the ports in the videocard of your monitors to rule out the port of the videocard causing it which again if not damaged can still be driver related XD
if it still is the same monitor then wel run it for a while only using that monitor disconnecting the other if it then still does it there may be a problem with the monitor
nvidia has currently more issues with dual setups then amd but should be resolved if you only use one display hench why if the problem is still there it likely comes down to the monitor
- bad cable you already replaced
- bad port on the monitor side
- firmware crash causing the display to reset check if the display has a update on the manufacturer's site
- leaking capacitor
- heck it can even be a faulty timer in the display but that usually ends up causing flickering lines and black bars
I see few potential problems.
- monitor/tv problem
- drivers problem
- GPU limitation and not enough bandwidth from the GPU side to max out 2x HDMI 2.1 at the same time. Only Asus does 2x HDMI port.
It can be tested by lowering the bandwidth requirements = lower resolution, lower refresh rate or changing to 4:2:0 chroma subsampling on both screens.
But it can be a cable issue as well. Samsung for example is very picky and anything longer than 1m can cause signal loss when the same cable can do 4K144Hz on another screen without issues.
ah yeah i do not know the model of your 4090 but it checks out highest hdmi version is 2.1 and highest displayport is 1.4 meaning hdmi 2.1 has higher bandwidth
Should all not be a problem as the entire setup, including all peripherals, are only 10 months old.
I switched from laptop to desktop 10 months ago.
As for the event log, it's not showing anything regarding these monitor "blackouts".
I have the Asus Strix 4090 OC... I believe the 4090 should be able to handle one 4K monitor running the Steam client and the other 4K monitor running the game.
My specifications, including my GPU, are available for viewing within the Canva link on my profile.
so rule it out don't shove it away its the same with purchasing ram it can either fail in a week or it works for years
otherwise if you don't want to figure out the cause then you just have to accept its the driver problem and maybe nvidia fixes it over time or your monitor just craps out one day
nobody can help you if you aren't willing to diagnose then you really just have to go to a repair store which likely will either tell you the same or do the same steps in the diagnosing of the issue
if you have the choice use dp
