Pretty much all ATX PSUs of around 750W or more have at least 4x power connections for GPUs. They often have 2 connections per cable. Yes you can use all of them at the same time. So it sounds to me like you don't even understand what you're looking at. The PSU might only have 2 connections on the PSU while each cable has 2 connections. That right there equates to 4x available GPU connections.

Now if the PSU is ATX 3.1 then it might not have many GPU 6+2 pin connections because they expect you to be using the 12V 12/16pin 600W cable for your GPU

You can get MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W, it has four 6+2 pin for graphics cards and 16 pin as well for modern Nvidia cards.

The older SeaSonic Prime GX 850 (e.g. not the ATX 3.0 or ATX 3.1 versions)

yeah i just prefer the corsair psu but want to populate the extra pcie on the msi motherboard and have 3 pcies for the 9070 xt and dont want to limit myself to only 2x8 pin 9070 xt's.maybe i could get a daisy chain cable for the rm850x and use it on 1 of the gpu sockets and the msi motherboard socket but that would depend on the length between the sockets and also the cheapest i can find if for is about £30. i know the corsair RM850e comes with a 16 pin to 2x8 pin connector where the 16 pin connects to the psu and the 8 pins connect to the gpu but it doesnt seem like you can buy it separately unfortunately.

You do know that Corsair don't actually make PSU's, they source them from FSP, CWT and even Seasonic, buy a Seasonic and you get a Seasonic 100% of the time.

Also Corsair now is not the same company they were back when they were primarily making memory. Since their expansion their customer service has gone to ♥♥♥♥ which is why I personally will not recommend anything corsair any more. I had an AX1600i (their top-end PSU at the time) that failed after about 3 years. It had a 10 year warranty and the product hadn't even been out for more than 4 years when it failed. Their customer service (or lack thereof) made me jump through as many hoops as they could to try to not honor their warranty; and when they finally determined they could replace it under the warranty their replacement was an HX1500i... Not even close to being "comparable" as a replacement. Needless to say, I just replaced it with a SeaSonic Prime and haven't given Corsair another dime since then.

Dam, luckily in the UK you can return it to store for the length of warranty, that's why I always buy from a brick and mortar store for big purchases so i never have to deal with customer support for stuff.

ok what are peoples thoughts then on the best 850w psu.

I just bought a montech century ii 850w gold rated psu off amazon for £80, they seem to be well rated (A) on the psu tier list.

so my requirements are :
850w-1000w(prefer 850w).
3 to 4 pcies connectors.
low Inrush Current.
quiet.
reliable.
not super expensive (over £200)

If you read a ton of PSU reviews there isn't a best as such as there is no PSU out that does everything perfect, there are a ton of good PSU's though, most PSU's are fine to buy, look for one with the connection you need, beQuiet PSU range is decent, Seasonic most of there line up is great, Corsair still have good PSU's, you can get PSU's from CWT, FSP and Super Flower they are 3 of the main providers to others like Corsair and beQuiet.

Best bet is find one that does the job then Google it for a review to make sure nothing bad crops up.

Looking at 850W PSU's I don't think you will find one with 6 CPU/PCIe connections, you will have to go 1000W and even then most don't have 6, the 1000W version of my ROG does but it's £240, the Corsair 1000W RMe would do the job that's at £140.

The non-ATX3.0/3.1 version. It should be in the ball park of around $100-$120 err... make that $180 - $200

EDIT2: actually their https://seasonic.com/focus-gx/ Focus GX-850 850W also has 5x 8pin CPU(EPS)/PCIe connections and it should be a bit cheaper around the $150 price point

the corsair rm850x 850w and rm1000x 1000w are now on sale at amazon as part of their prime day sale, 850w is £120 and the 1000w is £153 not sure what to do.

Just buy the 1000w one already so you can stop worrying so much.
