Help for weird issue GPU Utilzation and controller
I've had my computer for about 5 years no issue now suddenly my GPU utlization tanks to about 45% once I'm in game , but the odd thing is its completely normal 100% runs fine when my controller is not turned on. At fire i thought it had to do with microsoft gameinput that runs in applications in the background , then i thought it might have been my ram so I did mem test , switched out 1 stick of ram put in new one and it still has the issue , I'd like to still be able to use a controller in game sometimes but for the life of me can't understand what the hell could be causing this to happen. Wired controller by the way too.

game conttrollers have a wierd effect since win7. for instants. plugged in your monitor wont go to sleep or screensaver. win10 and up - hyper polling rate. which is good on a fast pc. your games will be fluid. downside. on a slow pc. eats your cpu time

Go to Task Manager > right click that GameInout file > open location. Exit the game and then in Task Manager end that service task for GameInput. Now in the folder where it resides, delete it.

Go to Windows Settings and disable everything to do with Game Mode and Xbox Gamebaar and also don't forget there is a setting in there that allows you to activate the gamebar from your controller, so disable that option as well.

If using NVIDIA change settings in NVCP to:

Power management = prefer max performance.
Low Latency = on or ultra
Shader Cache = Unlimited
VSync = Fast
GSync = On and enabled for both windowed and full screen apps
Disable MFAA

Reboot the PC

Close anything that is using it. Including the software specifically for it, and an av/firewall window left open can sometimes interfere in some circumstances.

Exit game and Steam and turn off the controller. Wait a minute and if GameInput still running in Task Manager > Details end that process

Ok tbat used to work.

Anyways press Winkey+R to bring up run. Type services.msc locate the GameInput service and change to Disabled. Then reboot the PC

Ok so I rebooted went to the file location an deleted the x86 version, kept the other one there are 2 versions in there, then spun up a game played for 10 mins with the controller and its working fine again. What a major bug, it tanked my performance by at least half when that is running int the background.

Can someone help me, I used my password several times on Steam but it was wrong, so Steam wouldn't let me log into my account anymore.

There is a cool down period when you do that I do believe. Give it about 1 hour then take the steps to reset your pw
