virus adware removal help
long story short,
A good IRL friend send me a file through discord on an external file sharing site to get around him not having discord nitro (upload size)

since then i have this bs popping up every second on windows
any help to remove it thanks

You do a scan with Windows Defender? If it didn't detect anything, try Malwarebytes.

open task manager, find the process, open file location, end the process and delete the file

When you appear to lose control with the PC like that, immediately reboot into safe mode. From there most malicious apps or piggy back services can't run. Then do a full scan with Defender and maybe others like ESET free online scan and MalwareBytes.

Before you leave Safe Mode, double check everything to do with any Startup Apps or Services so you ensure what all of those are. If it's optional and you really don't need it, disable it.

Like game clients for example, no one should have these in OS Startup, period. They can't run correctly this way. But for something like a game client you'd have to launch the app and check it's settings.
