Can't log into my PC...
Just installed Windows on a new rig, having issues with my AIO fans being on 100%. Did a bios update and now I can't log into my computer with my microsoft PIN. It just tells me there's an issue with "that type of login"... I just don't understand this.

I still have my old SSD with Windows on it and can log into that with the same PIN but not on my new SSD...

Wtf?

It just says something happened. What in the hell is this crap...

If I reset my password via phone it tells me its not working????

Did the bios update reset the BIOS to defaults?

I think so. It was a fresh bios update.

I can't even login on my phone, it just says it's not working when I try to reset my password.

On the plus I did fix my AIO I think(Mixed up fan and pump connectors it seems).

Honestly, if this is the kind of crap that happens when there's an issue with my account I'm going to reformat and do a local account. My old account must be a local account cause I can log into that with my current pin without an issue.
Ok for now go onto another device. Even a phone or tablet is fine.

So local only account? "shift+f10 start ms-cxh:localonly"

Do I need to reinstall Windows 11 on the drive? Legit tempted to fo this. I only have base software installed anyway.

Startup Repair would have possibly worked just fine, or not, sometimes it doesn't work.

When on the Win10/11 Sign-in screen, you can boot into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) by holding the Shift key and clicking Restart from the power menu.

Startup Repair should be on the list. It has helped me a few times but has failed one time.

windows repair does not fix login problems or let you make a new user, it only fixes windows system files

odds are more that the bios update changed how tpm responds or uefi changes windows doesnt like

resetting bios to defaults again might fix, or changing uefi or tpm options

Im not too sure. I can't log into my account at all. On a new phone, on a new browser, new machine when clicking from a link i've looked up myself on my mobile phone or otherwise, it's like my account is just frozen completely.

I would assume if my account gets blocked or frozen MS would flat out tell me my account is blocked instead of "something went wrong" and then tells me phone account recovery doesn't work either.

I read an account can be blocked for 24 hours to a week...

This is mad that this happens...

yea, thats why its best to use an offline/non ms acct for windows

What a nightmare... I can't load into my new SSD I get errors for some reason. Really hope it's not a faulty 990 Pro I've read about. Good thing I kept my old SSD intact.

I'll try reformat the new SSD and create a local only account.

Thanks guys!

Was the motherboard a MSI for that Bios update by any chance?

local account is best. theres no benifit with ms account other then onedrive. wait until windows 12. and ms if your watching, make ms accounts recovery easier along with smb shares. their a pain right now

if you cant log into your ms acct from mobile or other pc, then your ms acct is borked
you will need to wait for the ban to pass or contact ms support

I went local and it seems to be fine.

Question I have now is: if I link my account to my local account do I lose my local accohnt and everything is run through the MS account?

Im assuming not and the local account will always be a local account but I dknt want to sign in and have a mess like this happen.
