What To Do When A Crash Completely Closes Access To... IDK Everything?
Often times when a game crashes, I can't use my desktop, my task manager, I can't move windows, I can't force quit the game, I can't do anything except CNTRL ALT DELETE, and click 'sign out' to fix it.

Is there another way to circumvent this issue. I have had it for YEARS, and I have never ever figured out how to deal with it without basically shutting down my PC. I just want to close a frozen game without closing everything else on top of it.

open task manager then options and put it as always on top

alternative : hold tab+windows then make a second desktop by clicking the + then you can open task manager in the second desktop note if you already opened task manager close it first you can do that from the tab+windows aswel

I'll try the always on top option. The other one you suggested opened a desktop magnifier, and zoomed way the heck in.

It's very possible that CTRL+ALT+DEL still functions but due to the crash and the time it can take to clear all of that (such as your game) out of RAM, the system can appear to be completely unresponsive. Give it a few minutes and press CTRL ALT DEL a couple times and see if that screen does eventually come up. I have had that happen before and generally if you are patient it does come up and from there you could select options such as Log Off or Restart. Or click Task Manager and then force end tasks from there in the Details tab of Task Manager.

What also helps is configure the OS power options so that Power Button Press = Shutdown and if needed you can use that as an available option as well.
just checked with windows 11 as my other pc is windows 10 they have updated it for it to be now a small list but not to open the desktop magnifier so confused why you got that

something is unstable

it can be bios or drivers
if the cpu is throttling and windows doesnt know whats happening it can cause things to crash and lock up

undo any overeclocks, and reset bios to defaults
update bios and drivers (get the correct ones from the mobo mfg or oem site) then enable xmp

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

I was confused as well, though I am on Windows 10, so maybe that is the difference.

Also, make a habit of opening Task Manager and always have that option. Go to the details tab and change the Task Manager EXE Priority to Real-Time

This helps avoid apps and such taking so much CPU that Task Manager becomes unresponsive.

Plus with it always open you'll always have something to ALT+TAB or WINKEY+TAB over to.
