Is it important to uninstall previous drivers? Even though its the aame manufacturer and nvidia?
what model is the gpu. ?
have you been reading about msi z790 and intel issues lately ?
what cpu you using ?
if you switch back to the 2060 does issue go away ?
I'd always delete drivers and clean install new ones..
No issues with RAM, both sticks showing up in BIOS, hardware just sounds weird because this is happening a few days after some power gaming, I’ll check the cables, maybe just reseat everything.
PSU is a corsair 600W, its held up at high intensity with the new GPU, figured if something went wrong it would have happened running Helldivers on Ultra.
I5-12600K
I’ll look into the MSI and intel issues.
Might just pull the GPU and see if I can get into windows that way, noticed the BIOS build was from 2021, havent ever had to update it, could be time to flash it.
Havent done that, but computer was gaming fine with the new GPU for a few days already, not sure why its being moody this morning.
I don't know why, but pc's like to freak out and not reach the desktop after installing new hardware
You could also remove the gpu and plug it back it in, just in case it's not fully connected. I've also had this issue. Just a little less than being fully plugged in will cause the computer to not fully start up.
As for the ram thing, one stick at a time, and try every stick of ram you have, one at a time
Edit: based on how it was previously working, I would definitely try reseating it a few times
Also yes, I think OP should do a BIOS update if they aren't on their latest version
In this case, if you have another device, you can download that update, name it accordingly, put it on a USB
Or if you don't have a spare computer, put the old gpu in, boot up, download the BIOS update and flash it from a USB
Dont think so, stress tested the GPU pretty good beforehand, had zero issue with power or temps. Grounding hasnt been an issue either.
Sometimes there are windows updates that just prevent a pc from posting. Is there a way you can start in safe mode and then download the specific gpu drivers?
