Really depends on Nvidia. But I think they are already in maintainance mode, this means no new functionality or major changes and optimizations are added anymore.

Nvidia still appears to support my gtx960 that I have. So, I would say when support drops for that series then maybe two more years potentially.

There is nothing I could find in a search to suggest Pascal driver support is nearing EOL. Nothing on the NV support forum that I could find. There's a chart you can find online that shows Pascal drivers are still in production but that's like the only thing. I didn't use Google search though.

The same source claims Fermi (700) gpu/s are still running fine on Linux. So, you can surmise that Pascal cards will last for several years on a Linux platform.

These cards are still in such common use. I have a gtx 1080 and if I want to sell it, I better start looking b/c the selling price'll drop majorly if driver support ends, right?

Edit: I believe NVIDIA will provide plenty of notice before halting driver support. Again, these cards are still in common use.

Nobody knows until it is announced. All we can do is guess and speculate.

They seem to be aging more poorly driver-wise as of late though. I found that my GTX 1060 has the issue with the Windows 10 taskbar not rendering properly on the latest drivers upon going back to it during an RMA recently. 536.xx is fine. Or maybe that's not exclusive to old GPUs and can happen on even newer ones (?) in which case it's just a broad driver issue not specific to older hardware.

I haven't seen the infamous issue nVidia's recent (like last year-ish) drivers have with Black squares/flickering with Chromium/Chrome/Youtube, but I use Firefox as a browser (but Chromium is no doubt elsewhere and I haven't seen it).

Hard to say if they'll drop Maxwell soon and then drop Pascal later, or if they'll keep supporting Maxwell for a couple/few more years and then drop both together. With certain games wanting mesh shaders now, the RTX 20 series (including GTX 16 series) seems to be becoming the new soft minimum, and nVidia just announced the GTX 16 series will finally be stopping production after the year ends, so the focus is moving more to RTX cards, and specically the newer two generations I would imagine.

Fermi is the 400 and 500 series. The 600 and 700 series (besides the GTX 750 Ti) is Kepler.

Ah, thanks for the correction.

generally there are very few changes for the the older gpu drivers when a new gpu series is released
ex. no more driver performance improvements for the 10 series cards once the 16-20 were released

nvidia makes one driver for desktop/mobile that covers most of them

if anything the newer driver covers more gpus, and supports more instruction sets that the older gpus cant use

They're already pretty much EOL. I don't think much of the newer drivers for them do anything.

Forever, as long as they are compatible with the o/s in use.

no end of support on the horizon, just keep using your 10 series card as usual.

You would know when it's nearing the end when they start cutting off GTX 750 Ti and the GTX 900 series; which isn't happening anytime soon.

No way that's true. I had a 6gb 1060 in my HTPC, and games like Cyberpunk, Sons of the Forest, and Jedi Survivor ran at 1080p low settings with FSR, and it could somewhat keep 60fps.

nvidea has stopped making new drivers for all 6xx and 7xx serues carss in 2021.
it has stoped giving out new 9xx drivers in 2022.

nvidea already has stopped releasing game ready drivers for the 1xxx series..

my bet would be the 1xxx series will likely get its last driver next year
my bet is it wiill not be getting an win 12 driver.

so 1xxx series can be used for as long win 11 stays along.. which likely is until 2026.. which means steam will drop win 11 support in 2029.
