Yeah, and the embed button is still a thing and shoved down and out of the way too. Why not all of them? It's a button.
- This isn't social media.
You're replying on a forum. We have friends lists. We can post to eachothers pages. We can comment on other peoples actions, like getting an achievement etc. Steam is damn near early 2000s myspace already.
- I don't want to connect my other socials
Then don't. There's plenty of ways to do this without connecting it to socials. Hell, just the option to quickly share it to a friend on my friends list or copy the hyper link would be nice.


"Why"
Why not?
- It's a single button that wouldn't take a programmer longer than 20 min or so to build out depending on how crazy they want to get with it (like share to socials buttons or other honestly uneeded fancy stuff)
- Many people don't even know you can click the text at the top to copy to clipboard and there's nothing really screaming "Click here to share the game with people"
- It will help with sales. Can't say how much, but I can promise it's a lot easier to send a link than to tell someone to look up the game name. Just from a marketing standpoint, people don't want to jump through the extra hoops, so they just don't. Make it braindead easy and they'll be much more likely to use it,
- We have the embed button, which now-a-days seems seldomly used. We used to have a share button, I thought. If it was moved, I don't recall seeing it for years, maybe move it back?

It is actually better in the mobile app since it is a regular share button with multiple share options next to the ignore button.

You can also left click the URL to automatically copy it.

You can also type /store and the game name in chat.
