So you're the one to blame for Unity and Unity games developers being blatantly incompetent, am I correct?
Or what are you trying to tell me?
Are you trying to tell me here at Steam that I should not spend money on Steam and buy something else elsewhere instead?
Are you alright, bud? Nausea? Headache? Greenish face? No sympthoms of this kind, right?
See official engine documentation[docs.unity3d.com] on resource management. "grab everything and stuff into RAM/VRAM on startup. No offloading." That's how Unity does things by default (and its developers advertise as best practice because d'oh! default!) for twenty years.
Even blasted Construct engine doesn't do that by default anymore.
And I'm telling him that he needs a therapist.
You had plenty of time to upgrade before the spike. Sounds like an excuse to me.
This doesn't include the spec check suggestion which doesn't work with games like...

Which are what? System specs, correct?
I rest my case.
The game engine is an objective measure and cannot be falsified as game devs might do. Hence why OP was asking about the engine specifically and not for the specs check. An imperfect proxy but it gives more useful information in practice than asking for a system specs check, which he did not ask for as you agree.
Not all Unity games require 8GB RAM.
