Is it me...or are so many 'remakes' getting poor reviews these days?
Maybe it has to do with how I came from a time when releasing a game to the public meant those games already went through all of the Alpha and Beta tests while the developers were working on the games, because when a game was released into the market. There were no updates/patches, etc, and if there was a DLC, you had to go back to the store, either standing in line with everyone else who read about it in a gaming magazine like PC Gamer and then head home and install it on your computer. Which games did I do that for? I remember games like Warcraft 2 and 3, where I got several DLCs. Still, there were so many others, where when I got the Deluxe and higher versions, I would get worthwhile extras, unlike cosmetic, or sub-par quality equipment that games now make you pay extra for...yet they charge you ridiculous amounts if you want to get the statues.

As the headlines said, I find that these days, I find that way too many games are being released way too quickly, which I get socially; though if you want to let the public know that you are going to release a game five years into the future that look amazing and have so many promises...well there have been games out there that I bet everyone else have played too on here.

How many people on here feel that Developers are waving the high-end quality games in front of our faces, only to get them and feel ripped off? Does anyone also feel like the industry has gone way too far?

May I ask what the suggestion for Steam is?

:nkCool:
Better off taking this to the discussion forums, this is a "Suggestions" (for Steam) section
I don't have any suggestions for Steam actually, but more a comment on something I notice commonly with new games that are just released and for people to generally see that at least some people notice the hate and the other negativity.

This isn't meant to be intended to be anything other than just a commentary on gaming ther days than yet again someone blaming specific Dev Companies. There doesn't seem to be an open, general forum for the industry, I'm also tired of seeing people writing terrably negative reviews right when games are released, only to not know the whys and how reviewing a newly released game these days doesn't mean that that the game itself hasn't been tested at all; and it seems with a lot of companies - they use what 'fans' they have as 'freshy-released', 'fresh from the developer' so to speak, games. I'm not really angry or blaming, but if there was a form that I could post this in...I'm open to posting it where it's far more accepted.

Read the link posted by blunus, and then remove and re-post in a more appropriate forum.
Most of the original games these remakes are based on were made by people who worked hard to get where they are and poured their heart and soul into them as a passion project, the remakes are made by corporate drones who got to where they are though identity rather than merit. It’s no surprise that most of the remakes aren’t made very well.
