I know Steam has that feature where, after you've played a game, it suggests "check out this game" etc., but that doesn't mean it's actually similar.

I also know that when you click on a game, Steam shows "similar games," but those are often totally different, and it's still a clunky way to find truly similar titles anyway.

But what if Steam made a much better "similar games" system – not just based on tags like base-building, action, RPG, etc., but a real crowdsourced database where we as Steam users can vote or suggest which games we genuinely think are similar to each other.

Of course, some people will have weird ideas about what's similar, but if enough users contribute, the overall database will end up accurate and way better than just relying on tags.
