Id like to suggest adding an option to change our Steam account username (not just the profile name / nickname).

Many users are stuck with usernames they made years ago, when they were younger or had a different online identity. This can be embarrassing or no longer represent who they are. In some cases it can also be linked to sensitive personal information or old names people no longer use.

My suggestion is to allow users to change their Steam account username under some reasonable limits, for example:
– Only 1 username change every 12–18 months
– Usernames must still be unique and follow existing rules
– Steam could keep an internal history of old usernames for security

Benefits:
– Lets users fix old childish or embarrassing names
– Helps people who are rebranding, switching aliases, or changing their personal identity
– Makes Steam accounts feel more flexible and modern, like other platforms that allow occasional username changes

I understand that usernames are currently permanent, probably for security and database reasons, but I think adding a controlled way to change them (with cooldowns and checks) would improve user satisfaction without causing abuse.
