Allow Use of Physical Security Keys in Partnership With Steam Authenticator
I feel as if valve does an excellent job of securing accounts and providing support to those who lose their accounts to hackers etc., however, I believe that implementing support for a physical key to be used when logging in allows users to secure their accounts much more at no cost to valve and will reduce the occurrences of compromised accounts.

I personally use security keys alongside 2fa to lock up my emails and other accounts and think that it would be a welcome addition to steam. Valve could also implement a setting which allows you to choose what you'd like to secure e.g. needing security key to log in, authorise trades, needing security key to open games or specific games etc.

I think it will allow more customisation and security for those who want to protect their accounts that little more.

If I had a nickel for every time a user lost their physical RSA tokens, I would be posting this from my base on Alpha Centauri

Use the forum search function to see how this has been brought up and ♥♥♥♥ down numerous times.

Physical security keys and other third party 2FA systems do not do what Valve wants.
And since it is Valves account system, that means Valve gets to choose the 2FA method.

No need for physiocal keys.
The same people who manage to give away their account credentials would still lose them with the key. Everyone else is already maximally secured and has no security issues.
