2. This would require the developers to mark their achievements as being for the DLC and not the base game, which relies on the developers to bother to do so. Valve isn't going to force them in any way to separate them, so if a developer doesn't want to bother with it, they won't.
It'd be nice if we could categorize achievements at all. Let's start there.
TF2 has achievement groups, but Valve never made that feature available to other developers or used that feature in any of their other titles.
100 % is 100 %. Even on PSN you lose your 100 % if new trophies are added.
The only people who seem to be frustrated about it seem to be Steam achievements "hunters". I have never seen such complaint on LIVE or PSN, even less a weekly topic about it.
How would any of those changes make things more satisfying or less tedious if you are "enjoying completing games 100 %"? You'd do the same stuff as you do now.
ad 1) no relevancy whatsoever to the thread.
ad 2) in order for developers to bother or not, they first need the possibility to do so. On Steam you cannot categorizse achievements. On LIVE and PSN for some reason they do seem to bother. And small fun fact: both platforms do force them by not allowing to modify the base game's list.
Perhaps consoles aren't for you if you feel it's not satisfying, at least idlers would care.
