Wishlisting a game adds more for the devs to use based on wishlisted preferences.
As a player you can also search using the tags similar to.
To find a Steam game similar to what you already own, consider using Steam's built-in recommendation tools and looking for games with shared tags like open-world, RPG, or survival.

Looking at just tags is a one-dimensional view of the recommendations, very different to the feature that i talk about.
I find it odd that they'd hide that information from the store.
Right now:
1. If game NOT owned -> (Shows recommendations)
2. If game owned -> (Shows "In Library" text)
Case "2." could easily be set to show both "In Library" plus the non-1D recommendations
I still see games like this, it shows under the system requirements on the store page. Have you looked there?
It wouldn't really make sense to show the most similar game you've played to the game if you've played it because that would just be the game.
Plus, for a lot of games, the "similar to games you've played" thing just shows a random popular game because the players who play the game you're looking at are almost all also players of the popular game.
Great point! I think there shows any game, not limited to owned games tho. It would be neat to have recommendations for my library. There might be many owned games not yet explored, hence the suggestion. Maybe its not that compatible with "wanting to sell more games", but idk.
Thats a great point and probably a potential improvement on the recommendations. That said, i wanna make the distinction between "Games i've played" and "Games in my library". Even if its through gifts, owning games that are free to add to library for a limited time, bundles, or whatever else, the fact is that there can be owned games not yet explored.
My point being, if those recommendations exists, just make them available again. Pretend i dont own the game (even though i do) show me what games i've played are similar, so maybe i can engage or interact with that untouched game on my library thats similar to the ones i have played.
Perhaps its not an issue worth working on, since it doesnt necessarily promotes more sales, but it would be a nice to have at the very least.
