Smart library management
How about a feature where steam finds the fastest storage for the games you play most often and swaps out older games that you don't play often onto slower storage when steam is idle

Or you could administrate your own system instead of making it Valves job. Besides the problem with these auto manage schemes is the, "no, not like that" scenarios.

I mean it could be optional. But dollars to donuts you'll disable it when the result is more disappointing than anything.

as long as it had an option to set the time it optimizes storage I don't think it would really bother anyone

think everyone these days uses a large HDD with a smaller NVME

No i don't want Steam (or anything else) to mess with that. If i install something to my primary or secondary drive is because i want it exactly there.
