They send you here because it's not their job to handle any suggestions.
In normal companies with support teams and dev teams there is a thing called a "ticket system". For example I use to work in a company with Atlassian products, so even if the support team can fix it, the ticket can be escalated or another "issue"/ Work item can be created with a link to the original ticket to the dev team Backlog, so the issue can be fixed at some point (maybe under the lowest possible priority).
The steam support sending me here, is them trying to make me think they would do something, while there is countless spam here and none is considered unless is popular.
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/
that is where there is actual steam/vlave employees that are working on the client
as has been said
support is there for billing and account issues
help paying for a product, returns, not being able to sign in and the like
Do I need to chase any other support team?
They are there to fix problems. "Suggestions" are not what they are meant to intake.
So yes they are redirecting you to the correct place, because, Support is not where Steam aggregates or looks for suggestions to the platform.
But the problem is that are not willing to fix or provide me with proper support. Their goal is to say something like there many hardware configurations, can't help, leave us alone if possible
So instead of doing the proper procedure - Try to replicate the problem - if exist - create a internal ticket to Developers to fix the problem - inform the customer when fixed in order to test.
That's the correct way to do it. Steam instead tells me to come here and to write exactly what I have written in my support request. Why? They can collect the support info, summarize and send to those who can "consider" a "suggestion" that is actual bug that is unconfirmed.
They cannot help you with yours or someone else's game development.
Account issues such as billing issues and account login issues (recovery of a highjacked account.).
They do not help with anything else.
When Support sends you to the general forums, that is their way of politely telling you to leave them alone and stop bothering them with something they don't handle.
It's beyond obvious that OP is yelling up the wrong tree. Not sure what you're trying to do here.
Nothing. Just like Steam, Valve or whoever is their support team.
1. Pointing out there is some flaws in their Valve publisher games
2. Pointing out that I should not be send here to ask for a fix of an issue, that should be handled internally. I literally did what support told me. I came here to ask for a Sound bug to be fixed for cry out loud /s.
If the button says "I still have questions about my purchase", you're not contacting the game developers, you're contacting the store. The store can't do anything about a bug in the game.
Go to that games forum and post there.
Or go to that games website and use their bug report system there if they have that.
You are demanding support do something they cannot do.
Steam support is handling games issues of the games Valve published. If I go to game published by someone else I would get as you wrote, a proper place for that support I seek. For example if the problem was getting the game downloaded, then perhaps is Steam who is handling that particular issue.
When I ask for support of the Orange box games I purchased, I follow the game info written on the library page for that particular title and IT DID NOT TELL TO GO TO A FORUM, I raised my support ticket as their internal system is organized to do so. I did everything right as per user of Steam and owner of the Orange Box Half-life 2 Deathmatch.
If Steam support thinks they are not the appropriate entity for this type of request, then the right action is to be informed as so. I did everything right. My feedback is valid. I hope some of the staff get my feedback and improve the Steam and game support for everyone as I only seek general improvement for everyone. I can play the game I have problem with on my old crappy headset instead of my fancy wireless one, I don't care.
when you asked steam support about a purchase
they were able to help you because that is their job
they help with account access issues and billing
it would not have mattered if it were another pub/dev
if you have problems with the client,
the proper spot is the beta forums
seems counter intuitive,
but that is where they want those posts whether they are beta related or not
if it is with a specific game,
you post in the games forum
that is how steam has handled this for as long as i have been here
and just an fyi
we are users like you
steam mods/devs do not post here unless they are closing a thread
they do respond in the beta section if they have any input on the situation, however
and the game's devs will (hopefully) respond in their forum
