Let us Review steam games that we played in Family Share
I like to write steam reviews, Give my opinion and my positivity out in the world of the games I love and the games I want people to see, or make criticisms of games I think could do better

however I'm unable to do so, as half my games are owned via family share, and I wish I could leave a review on all of them because my family does not like writing steam reviews, nor do their friends look at their reviews. If this could be changed in some way I would GREATLY appreciate it

100% Agreed

This would be a really good change. I know a few people who similarly take issue with this, and it's always made no sense to us that they can't review a game they clearly played.

Valve already closed the exploit that was available to review shared games last year.

I doubt it will be a thing.

that sucks they should fix that

Honestly yeah I dont get why thats not a thing, at the very least if its because of "dishonesty" or wtv they could add a "-user accessed game through family share" disclaimer like they have for getting a game for free

I can see the possibility for more people to review a game can be a good thing, I think Steam maybe adding a little tag to the reviews saying that the person played it through family share could be a nice compromise if it's a concern to the userbase or to Valve.

There is nothing to fix as you need to have the licence to a game to review it, whereas with Family Share you only have a temporary licence to access the game.

You can't write a review for a game you don't own.
I agree!

The reason they don't allow this is to prevent people to review bomb games even more. Also only 1 person bought the copy. So only 1 review can be made.

This.

Honestly, I don't get why they don't already do this. If reviews from people receiving a product for free are still valid, then why not this? I honestly don't think family share review bombs are problematic, but if that's the concern, then make it so that family share reviews don't count towards the overall review score. Hell, making family share reviews visible only to people on your friends list would be an improvement compared to what we have, but I doubt we need to go that far.

This.
There are mechanisms that can be put in place to detect, prevent, and roll back review bombing. Preventing another possible vector for review bombing is so much more fragile than just building up detection mechanisms and rectifying procedures. If this is actually a reason, then Valve should make "how might you solve review bombing" an interview question for employment. Woof.

Not allowing multiple reviews from Family Share is just such a mechanism.
