Steam discussions are really showing their age.
Should have really basic functions like more filters and way to narrow down searching.

Like for instance if I was looking for the keyword "cheese", I should be able to select "threads titles only".

And you should also be able to filter an entire discussion board's post by people who own the game, because some are really flooded by people who have nothing better to do with their time than post for literal YEARS about games they haven't played and hate for idiotic reasons like "it has a black character".

all good suggestions.
as you say, the steam forums are woefully outdated and need completely replacing with something more modern and functional.

sadly, valve don't care...

took them a year to overhaul skins on CSGo2 do you think they actually have the skilled individuals to update the forums? Even with A.i. they seem incapable of updating this platform forum in the past 10 years, doubt we will see improvements in the next 10.

I would rather they keep it like this because everyone who says "You should search first" outs himself as a someone who has never practiced what he preached or he would know how useless and ♥♥♥♥ the implementation of search is. An easy tell for the frauds is useful.

Would be nice, yes. Especially for people troubleshooting issues that might have been already solved in existing threads. Would make searching easier.

It’s not really idiotic to complain about forced DEI and other racist practices. The simple fact of the matter is that most people are repulsed by racism and will call it out so if that bothers you then stay away from the forums made by left wing activists as their products are full of that type of divisive politics. Steam certainly isn’t going to redesign the forum just because you don’t like it when people call out their disgraceful behaviour.
