Download All button?
I don't want to have my games on auto-update, but I'd love to have the option to have a "Download All" button on the Downloads page.

It's annoying to have to click them all one by one, while each individual game's Download button keeps moving around after each game I queue up for download.

It's been years and we still don't have the option to download all game updates on the list/queue.

Valve does not want you to do mass downloads of games you don't actively play. They don't want you to hoard data because the extra downloads cost them money. It might not be a problem if the userbase is less than a million, but here we are. Valve has 40 million users all wanting to download and play games at the same time.

Any further form of automation would mean that people begin to hoard downloads again.

Then explain what is the difference between having all games update automatically the moment there is an update and stacking updates that I then queue up all at once and they get downloaded one by one?

It's literally the same amount of data size and bandwidth, just not at the same time. Makes no difference as far as I understand how things work.

Also, where did you get your information from, on this decision they've made?

It had been a feature before corona happened. That Valve had removed this feature and didn't add it back should be a telling sign that the removal was a business decision, especially regarding the consumption of traffic.

The simple thing is, by making it inconvenient to download everything out of the algorithmic schedule, less people will actually attempt downloading everything in short order and therefore less bandwidth capacity is needed to cover the overall needs.

That makes sense, though it doesn't seem to be the reason they've done that, judging from their statement here - https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/news/app/593110/view/2074411495515541375

Seems like they got away with that one nonetheless...

They made changes instead of auto updating all, they space it out to queue, and schedule, with the queue being games you recently, or frequently been playing, and for scheduling being games haven't played within x amount of days.

The site attaching multiple autoplaying videos to every store page suddenly twiddling their thumbs and saying "Aw shucks. Bandwidth is SO expensive we really need to control the users." is a strange argument and stranger still that people who supposedly have experience with Steam find it convincing.

You can turn off both autoplay videos and livestreams.

I can also click download nine times, and eventually once when they turn the button back on. :Majogami_Karma:

Select all the games you want at once in your library, rightclick, update all.

It still won't do what the OP wants.
Only one game will update at a time and all others will be placed in a line to update after the current one finishes.

Pretty sure enqueueing them all so they all get downloaded one after the other is what he wants

There is zero point to concurrent downloads of games in the client.
