GTA 6 is not coming to PC for a while.

Steam Machine is just a PC, Rockstar will release GTA 6 PC when they're ready to. Nothing Gabe, Valve or any other gaming entity on the planet can do about it.

In the meantime, GTA V

You'll need to direct that request to Rockstar, not Valve/Gabe. The platform (Steam/Steam Deck) isn't the limiting factor.

For evidence, look at GTA V: it ran flawlessly on Linux for years via Proton. The reason it stopped was because Rockstar integrated BattlEye anti-cheat and chose not to enable its Linux/Proton compatibility, even though the capability exists.

So, the ball is entirely in Rockstar's court. Until they decide to support Linux/Steam Deck for their titles, even a new 'Steam Box' won't change anything for GTA 6.

Valve cannot force developers to make their compatible for the steam machine, it's up to the devs to decide whether development for it viable or not.
