I’ve been thinking about a visual system that would let you see, right on a game’s page, how it’s rated by your close circle. That way, you could add a new library filter - sort by: family rating - to more easily find games recommended by family members.
Besides encouraging exploration of your library, it would add an extra layer of interaction to the family feature.
A game’s rating could be tied to a written review on the store page, but if none exists, users could simply give it a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to indicate whether they’d “recommend this game to their family.”
