Achievements & 100%/Blue Ribbon
Hello fellow completionists!

I've come here to suggest some improvements that could be done to game achievements. I love achievement hunting, so to get to the point I want an update that separates the base game achievements from DLC achievements. This is because I've already had two instances where I've blue ribboned a game, but the DLC achievements take away my blue ribbon after releasing. This is a simple quality of life update, and I think it would benefit all players. Especially completionists which you would only have to worry about base game achievements to get a blue ribbon.

That is all Thank You,

Tommy Bee

DLC are still part of the whole game.
If you haven't gotten the DLC achievements, then you haven't 100% the game.

Also achievements are a very low priority for Valve due to those caring about achievements a very small minority of users.

This and then Achievements are easy to cheat with SAM and other methods

Already possible. Separate appid for the DLC and then add achievements in it. Most devs don't bother implemented that, probably because they want money.

No, it is not possible to add stats or achievements to a DLC app. Stop repeating this lie.

I understand what you mean, but some people might not be able to purchase the DLC or they just don't want the DLC. Like for me, I already completed Cyberpunk 2077 but when my blue ribbon was taken away I wasn't able to get the Phantom Liberty DLC until almost half a year after it released.

As for the "small minority" I think that adding this achievement separation update might encourage more people to fully complete a game.

I heard about the SAM method before, so I guess they could just provide a patch with the update to restrict SAM and the other methods of cheating for achievements.

Not without breaking achievements in every game that's on Steam and requiring them all to manually be fixed by their developers.

Yeah I guess that's true, but I still believe. I NEED this update to happen, idc how long it takes. It would boost individual game retention.

Would follow normal Cheat pattern

1. Cheaters cheat
2. Company patches it
3. Cheaters find another work around
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for eternity

But let's be honest, you could say the same loop for about almost anything that's online these days. Cheaters are just addicted to taking shortcuts, there is almost a sort of honor system when playing games now.

False. Valve does not offer this as an option to developers despite developers asking it.

Seperate base game, dlc: Possible with seperate app id's but only if Valve extends it to other games. Currently only TF2 has it.

Oh woah I didn't know TF2 had it. So this is proof that it is possible. I know it will probably take really long to implement it to every game because all the game devs and what not would probably have to participate in changing how the achievements work. That's cool though, proof that it could work.

TF2 has achievement groups. That has nothing to do with DLCs (which makes sense because TF2 doesn't sell DLCs).
