It's a Stupid System
I wanted to add a specific amount of money to my steam account so I'd have enough to by the Surviving Mars remake but steam only has options for predetermined amounts. This is a Stupid system. Also not allowing pre-orders is stupid as well. I'm looking at you Paradox! It is unfortunate that Spotify might get to that money first as they take a payment out on the 10th (their "grace" period is like 30 days). So my Suggestion is to allow the user to set the amount they want to add to their account via the steam app. you can keep the various steam cards in stores.

Why not DIRECTLY use the payment method?

with a plugin you can add any amount over the minimum. in the UK its £4.. but if you wanted to add £4.01 you can

My bad. I just re-read the OP. I thought the game was already on sale lol.

Yeah, there is no easy ways to add exact amount of funds in anticipation of a game getting released.

Wait for the price to be avaible and then buy?

Or like eram suggested before, you can add any amount with browser extensions as long as it's more than the minimum value (>5$)

im not entering my credit card into a third party plugin. That would be absurd and beyond stupid.

It's actually maintained by isthereanydeal which isn't just some random third party. It's a site that advertise discounts on other sites that gets their keys legally through devs.

It's not some random maintainer located in Russia or whatever.

Because Valve wants you to add more than the game's price.

It's a shame you never heard of it. It's a pretty popular site for finding deals that don't rely on actual shady third party re-sellers.

You can do it manually too, right click and inspect element the green "add funds" button and modify the data-amount to match how much you want to add

i dont think you understand how it works
you are never giving your payment info to any 3rd party site.
you are adding funds here

All the plugin does is modify the HTML of the page so that other amounts can be entered.

It automates something that can easily be done manually by editing the page.

Isthereanydeal is reputable.
