Sharing a single copy of a game across multiple accounts at the same time will probably never happen.
Valve has the system you want. It's not your self serving fantasy.
Also you know games can opt out of family sharing and Valve isn't going sabotage their system to allow what you want against the product owners wishes.
no you didn't read my post properly, it's the same email but given different profile status with even option to have different profile names, you will be able to have multiple identities on steam using the same........license.....nothing to do with multiple accounts and these profiles will have fresh saves in companies servers. I don't think more then 10 are necessary and it's something any company can deny you no problem, my interest is in old games and indie multiplayer games where I can actually talk to devs
if you play any online game you know just how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useful this would be, just another thing in the bucket list in my opinion, nothing to do with whatever paranoid schizo stuff that a lot of users on these forums keep regurgitating
i know several people who have multiple steam accounts they purchase duplicate copies of games to play with friends on second accounts.
as the saying goes "don't put all your eggs into one basket"
If the game doesn't have multiple save slots, steam can't change that, and they aren't going to try to create workarounds for specific games just so you can try different things.
The simple way to do what you want is just ask where the save folder is for the game, and you can make your own backups and swap saves around for trying out different things.
For online games its a giant NO, the save data is tied to the license key and the game owners don't want to give you multiple saves in some cases per license. Those that do already allow you to have multiple char's.
yeah I don't really understand what you're saying or how this relates to post , I'm suggesting an idea not describing current features
no this is what ONLY steam can do from their end, no disrespect bro, you have no idea what you're saying not to mention it's completely unrealistic when it comes to asking for online saves and companies magically having an issue with people having multiple profiles considering the entire non PC gaming platform and OS let's you do that. Making up "theories" without providing actual statement isn't what I expected this suggestion/ideas hub to act like, kinda disappointed it's just a big no no fest just to make steam save face
please read the post again and again and again, this is ONE user
Unfortunately you have no idea how it works. The save games are managed by the develeopers, not steam.
They use the unique steam account to contol the saves. The developers could easily give you multiple save slots if you want, many online games do this. The fact that they don't is a conscious choice, its not some random thing.
Steam isn't going to try to create options to give you multiple saves when a developer set up their game to give you one save for instance.
Non PC gaming is irrelevant and its completely different then PC gaming. Console games can be shared on the same account, steam games cannot and require a seperate steam account per game for sharing because the account is how saves are managed. So ironically you just proved my point for me.
Yeah but my response was about about online games which are not saved locally.
