If you perceive an award as sarcastic thats on you. Even if Steam added more I think it highly likely some will also add sarcastic meanings to them. Hell if people didn't assign sarcastic tones to jester and the like there wouldn't be any because people wouldn'ty take them that way. I couldn't give a what someone s reasons are for giving me an award, I just think free points, thanks.


Its no different to when I had guys make sarcastic comments about my long colourful hair. When that happened I'd always smile and say thanks and go on with my day. Funny thing is majority of the time I could either tell they were shocked at my response and either pissed because I showed their sarcasm didn't work on me or just just shocked and kept kept the months shut. Sure some tried to follow up but that always ended up worse for them when I'd point out various insecurities they may which lead them to try and big themselves by being sarcastic.

I’m all for more awards being added but I don’t think there are the sarcastic meanings you perceive on some of the awards. I have given the extra helpful award plenty of times and it’s always when someone provides some valuable information about a game.

I still don't like the wording of gotta have it and extra helpful. Its weird to me idk.

Well if we accommodated everyone who felt something was weird, we wouldn't have much.

Besides, if you say any thing with a sarcastic tone in a particular context it's sarcastic.There's not some tone proof quip that can't be delivered or interpreted sarcastically. Especially if a user is determined to. That's not a problem Valve needs to solve.
